What was the event?

I am honored to have been included in the Author Meet and Greet Event at The Farms in Collierville, TN. One of our members arranged this event and we had tables set up in the event center. The Farms is a retirement community that can have up to 500 residents. There are many events planned at this location and people are eager to engage and learn new things. Eleven authors participated, and it was a fantastic way to meet new people and share our work with a new audience!

The space provided was welcoming and centrally located, providing great visibility. A projector and screen were available, and our sponsoring member created a PowerPoint presentation that included each author and a quote about why they enjoy writing. This was an excellent way to draw attention to each author.

Tables and chairs were provided and there was not a fee to participate, which is always a nice plus!

What Changes Did I Make for My Second Vendor Event?

I increased the bundle options by creating two new bundles. My original bundle contains a coloring book, crayons, a canvas bag, a packet of hot chocolate, a packet of marshmallows, and a bookmark. Both the bookmark and the canvas bag can be colored with markers or crayons and contain Bible verses. To be more inclusive, I created bundles that do not contain the bags or bookmarks; some people may not want to have Bible verses in their bundle. After removing the Biblical products, I created two new bundles, one with crayons and one with color pencils. The price for the full bundle was $15, and $12 for the new versions.

 My Author Slide

My author slide shows the cover of my coloring book and a border that reflects the stained-glass theme of my book. My quote, “I want to help kids and kids-at-heart relax and take some quiet time to bring color into their lives. We should live life in every color!”, is included on the slide.

It was fun to see how each author expressed their desire to write and learn more about other authors’ motivations.

The Participating Authors

I knew most of the participating authors prior to the event and made some new friends, too. There were many different genres represented, including children’s writing, romantasy, thrillers, devotionals, nonfiction, and Christian fiction. There was something for nearly everyone to enjoy.

Participants included: Beth Alvarez, Tracy Crump, Frank DiBianca, Kay DiBianca, Gary Fearon, Larry Fitzgerald, Ron McMillan, Nick Nixon, Annette Teepe, and Becky Thomas.

The Event Poster

The event poster had a nice design and described the event well. We plan to hold events there in the future, and I am looking forward to seeing this event grow! I am grateful for the opportunity to learn more about running vendor tables, sharing my work with others, and being a part of such a giving author community!

I plan to continue sharing my journey with you as I participate in more vendor events and create writing projects to share!

Thank you for following me on this fabulous adventure!
