I am pleased to announce that my story, “Daddy’s Little Girl”, has been published in Growing Older with Grace (And a Little Humor). This is a book from the Short and Sweet series by Grace Publishing and the royalties go to World Christian Broadcasting.
The nudge to write a story for this series came in two separate events. First, one of my writing groups used the callout as an opportunity to try to write stories using only one syllable words. We were encouraged to complete our story and submit it for publication. I thought it sounded like a fun challenge.
The next week, I attended a different writing group and, guess what? We were presented with the same callout and a similar writing prompt to complete and share. And, of course, encouraged to write a story to submit for publication. Maybe someone is trying to tell me something?
After two nudges, I figured it was meant to be, and I got to work!
My story is about a sweet moment with my dad when he was trying to tell me what dating would be like. I was too young to date but enjoyed talking about how one day I would be old enough. Sadly, my dad passed away before I went on my first date, but I held his words in my heart. So grateful that I answered the nudge and submitted my story!
