The answer is B: Fresh pineapple

Fresh pineapple will keep gelatin salad from gelling

Gelatin needs to gel to create the final product. Fresh pineapple has an enzyme, bromelain, which breaks down the proteins and prevents gelling.

Canned pineapple works fine – the high heat required in the canning process destroys the enzyme.
